Somehow Bethesda managed to make a game that appealed to people with many different tastes and many different age groups yet still make a game with depth and quality.

The setting is typical , almost a boring world compared to the unique stage Morrowind was set in. Yet the characters and stories are rich and meaningful. At first I thought that the game looked a little cartoonish. Its nice but everything is shiny and bulky and simple like it was drawn with a crayon instead of with a well defined artist's touch. Once you step into an oblivion gate you realize that this was really the only way to really create this game. If the realism was any more detailed Oblivion gates would give people nightmares.

You end up with a game that dials back the realism in the art style but makes no sacrifices in the stories and themes.
